Home-based screening for cognitive impairment: leveraging computer-adaptive tests to enable efficient and precise triage in cancer care
Many cancer patients report cognitive problems. We will develop and implement an online screening instrument that adjusts itself during testing to the level of the patient. With this instrument it becomes possible to quickly and accurately detect cognitive impairment. A patient is instantly reassured or referred to a specialist for further assessment and guidance.
Through this twophased smart diagnostic process we can manage increasing patient volumes. The cognitive screening guides patients to appropriate care routes and alleviates the burden on clinicians, patients and financial resources. It secures adequate care for those in need and contributes to better quality of life
